After successfully operating a company in California for many years, he made the bold move to South Florida with his family in search of new opportunities, growth and adventure.

Today, as Creative Director for Yard Sentry Landscape Lighting, Pablo combines his entrepreneurial background with a strong creative vision and meticulous attention to detail. Trained alongside industry expert Derek Sullivan, he has developed the expertise to design outdoor lighting solutions that elevate both the beauty and functionality of every property he touches.

Known for his commitment to customer satisfaction, Pablo takes pride in understanding each client’s unique vision and bringing it to life through innovative, efficient, and thoughtfully designed lighting experiences. He enjoys the challenge of transforming outdoor spaces into warm, inviting environments that homeowners can enjoy day and night.

Outside of work, Pablo enjoys fishing, gardening, soccer, and sharing traditional Argentinian mate with friends and family. He loves spending quality time with his family, exploring the vibrant culture of South Florida, and cheering on Messi and the Argentina national team whenever he gets the chance.

Aldo Escobar is the Operations Manager and a Lighting Designer at Yard Sentry, known for combining technical precision with refined design. His career began in the field as a laborer, giving him a firsthand understanding of every detail required for a successful installation. Through years of dedication, he advanced through roles as a technician and office manager before stepping into his current leadership position.

This ground-up experience shapes Aldo’s approach to design: each lighting plan is not only visually striking but thoughtfully engineered to perform seamlessly in the real world. He believes exceptional outdoor lighting should feel effortless, even if significant expertise goes into making it that way.

Outside of work, Aldo enjoys working on cars, spending time exploring nature, and occasionally unwinding with a good game—though he admits he has a hard time staying away from a project for too long.

Derek Sullivan’s career in lighting began in 1996 where he was hired to run the outdoor lighting division for Northwest Electrical Contractors in Boise, ID. He soon realized that he had a natural talent and passion for the art of exterior lighting. In 2000 Derek decided to open his own company. By 2002 Derek’s skills had gained national attention and he relocated to Florida. Once permanently settled on Florida’s east coast, Derek opened Yard Sentry, Inc. which was later changed to Yard Sentry Landscape Lighting by Derek Sullivan, Inc.. In 2007 Derek accepted his first overseas project in London and he has continued to design and install custom projects for high profile clientele both residential and commercial in the United States, and around the world ever since.

• Has actively participated in the design and field testing of the latest and greatest LED product lines in the landscape lighting industry for the past 10 years.

Derek lives and breathes Lighting Design but when he is not creating outdoor inspirations for his clients he is likely enjoying his favorite hobbies- Scuba Diving and Spearfishing. Derek is a licensed Scuba Instructor as well as an AFPA accredited Master Trainer with qualifying certificates in Nutritional Counseling and Sports Conditioning. Derek is married and a proud father of four beautiful children.

A local to Indian Harbour Beach, FL, LEED AP accredited, and Florida GC licensed with a degree in Civil Engineering; Kevin Thomforde is a Landscape Lighting Designer for Brevard County, FL and the surrounding areas. After earning his degree at Florida Tech he pursued a career as a Project Manager for a global construction company and built schools, hospitals, hotels and condos. His extensive years of experience in Commercial Construction Management make him ideally suited to independently create lighting designs and partner closely with Landscape Architects and Contractors to have lighting designs come to life.

When Kevin started his family he had an exciting opportunity to relocate them to Satellite Beach and open the Brevard County branch for Yard Sentry Landscape Lighting. Since opening the local office in 2011, Kevin has beautified many residential homes and commercial properties with his lighting, most notably; Tropical Trail, Lansing Island, Riverside Drive, Suntree, Lake Washington and Melbourne Beach. He has established himself over the years and is well-known and trusted in the community.

When Kevin isn’t designing and installing beautiful lighting he enjoys spending time with his family, boating, going to the beach, scuba diving, running and battling it out at Trinity Fitness.
